Modi Wave everywhere- Eastern Uttar Pradesh in Loksabha Elections, 2014

More and more people, I was interacting, I was getting sure about Modi wave in Eastern Uttar Pradesh. Narendra Modi probably has become something like a phenomenon beyond any logic or rationale. Dubeyji had already given me the general idea about the mood of general public.

Praveen Kumar Baranwal, a social worker, beyond party politics has something interesting to share about this phenomenon. A few days back, a state minister of Uttar Pradesh, whose facial hairs have similarity to those of Narendra Modi, made visits to some districts around Varanasi. The administration and local units of Samajwadi Party made all out efforts for collecting crowds to his meetings.

Minister went happy after his successful meetings, in which he recounted the schemes of his Samajwadi Party Government, in the interest of common people. But, one may imagine his reaction, had he known how the illiterate villagers, brought to make his meetings successful, were feeling very happy after listening to the speech of ‘Modi’.

The other incident is more interesting. In the last monsoon, major parts of Eastern Uttar Pradesh were in the grip of flood. In some flood stricken areas, Samajwadi Party workers started relief work. In the Mirzapur district, which is adjacent to Varanasi, whole population of a village has taken shelter on a hillock near village, which was safe from the flood water due to its height. Samajwadi Party workers distributed relief material to all the villagers.

However, they were red faced when they found that just when their boats, carrying them and relief material were returning, all the villagers were shouting the slogan, मोदी जिंदाबाद (Long Live Modi), presuming all this bounty has come to them courtesy Narendra Modi.

If such is the level of phenomenon about Narendra Modi, what can be done by Samajvadi Party or any other party? Certainly, no one can beat Narendra Modi in the Loksabha Elections, 2014, if I had sensed the pulse of general public.
