International Yoga Day- My dream came true

On first International Yoga Day i.e. June 21, 2015, when I was performing Yoga postures in New Delhi at Rajpath along with more than 35000 others; all the present at that place were knowing that they were witnessing a never before the moment in human history.

Before that when Shri Narendra Modi, Indian Prime Minister spoke in his address that no one had imagined that one day, Rajpath (Royal way) would turn into Yogapath (Way of Yoga), it became very difficult for me to restrict my tears of joy.

The Pranayamas (breathing exercises), Aasanas (Yogic postures), Vedic verses and even chanting of auspicious ‘Om’, all represented a continuous tradition of millenniums and millenniums. Not only being an observer of this great and ancient tradition, but being part of the same was a dream come true, not only for me, a regular Yoga practitioner, but many more like me.
Vrikshasan (Tree Pose) of yoga

In my personal life, I had the first interface of Yoga, much later, only at the age of eighteen. The tradition of doing brisk exercises called Kasrat, Vayayam, Varjish or Mihnat in Hindi; and eating fat-rich diet was something like a family tradition for me. Doing brisk exercises in hundreds and something in thousands, e.g. sit-ups and pushups, especially popular among traditional wrestlers was the flavour in that area of Eastern Uttar Pradesh, in which my family was based.
Naturally, I was also motivated to follow that tradition. Somehow, after observing the health status of our elders, especially at a late age, I was making a view that this regimen of life could make my body strong, but not healthy. Another angle agitating my mind was that a lot of diseases were inflicting my physical body since infancy and I was determined to get rid of them, completely. At that time, my height was also much below average, not growing anymore; and just like any other growing teenager, it was a matter of concern for me.
By natural instinct, I started to go through Yoga books from the extraordinarily rich family library in the initial eighties; and suddenly found witnessing a new world opening before me. Around the same time, another branch of physical wellness, ‘Naturopathy’ attracted my attention.
A deeper and deeper study of Yoga as well as Naturopathy revolutionized all my thought process. I also made regular correspondence with authorities in these two fields and luckily I also got encouraging responses, from them, which is unimaginable nowadays, even when communication has become easier and faster.
Following lifestyle developed on my own, not only freed my physical body from multiple anomalies, but I could also increase my height by six inches, that was a miracle considering that I was already over age of eighteen. These two extraordinary successes made my belief in Yoga and Naturopathy, strong like steel.
Since then, I am a committed follower of both these streams i.e. ‘Yoga’ as well as ‘Naturopathy’; and try to support their cause, in all the possible ways. All my friends, relatives and known are witness to my orientation towards these two great depositories of human welfare science, sometime reaching to a fanatic level.
It is another thing that there were a lot of risks involved at that level of experimentation, which I had undergone, while studying these sciences, on my own, without any Guru; and many times, I also suffered a lot. That is the reason; in general, I discourage others to do self-study, in these streams of knowledge.
In the intervening period, like a natural corollary, I jumped into another vast pool of knowledge, i.e. ‘Ayurveda’ (Literal meaning- ‘Science of Life’), without doubt, the greatest medical system of Indian origin. There is nothing more joyful for me than knowing the fact that current Government of India, under the aegis of ‘Ministry of Ayush’, has started to focus more on ‘Yoga’ and ‘Ayurveda’, which remained neglected for decades, in the very country of their origin.
Naturally, in the above backdrop, the morning of International Yoga Day i.e. June 21, 2015 at the Janpath lawns, New Delhi was a watershed morning for me. The biggest day of the year became one of the biggest days of my life. And with this, one of the biggest dreams of my life came true.
Another long-cherished dream of mine is to marry the science of Yoga with another great mystical science i.e. Science of Astrology. I know that a lot of work has been done to merge the principles of Ayurveda and Astrology, but it is very surprising that no one thought about synthesizing science of Yoga with the science of Astrology.
The research team of https://astrodevam.com/, under my guidance, has already started path-breaking work in this direction.
Team of https://astrodevam.com/ is already suggesting most suitable Meditation system and most suitable Pranayama (Yogic Breathing Technique) based on horoscope analysis of a person. Suggestions under these services are provided only after deep analysis of horoscope, on the basis of principles of Vedic Astrology.
The day is not far when, we will be able to provide complete Yogic solution, just after going through Vedic Horoscope. Then another dream seen by me will come true.
